Read and understand medical terminology; hygienically handle (with proper protective equipment) animal stool and urine sample containers that pet owners drop off to the practice; handle phone calls from clients who wish to humanely euthanize their pet; interact with clients who are distraught about the wellbeing of their pet; see blood, urine, feces, animals in pain, animals that are critically injured, animals that may be abused or neglected, wounds and other medical issues; remain calm and level-headed in the face of medical emergencies. remain empathetic and caring throughout the day; safely interact with our patients that are waiting for their appointment; receive prescription diet and medication requests over the phone and handle each according to hospital protocols; review medications and treatment recommendations with clients during invoicing time; educate clients about our services and products; market the practice over the phone to potential clients; accurately admit and discharge patients from the practice according to hospital protocol; sometimes stay late; sometimes work over-time; sometimes perform tasks outside of your direct job responsibilities; enjoy working with animals and the people that they love; participate in a team effort to help pets live longer, healthier, happier lives and to let clients know that we care.
